I was looking for a budget yet good hotel to stay in Ortigas Pasig, and I found Go Hotels! Lucky for me because I also found a video review for the room in this very affordable hotel.

This video is from a staff of stylistic.com that happened to stay there because of sponsorship and a vlog review. I didn’t like the person who was doing the review, I was after the review so I continued to watch and see if it’s nice to stay in the place.

Here is the video that I am talking about: don’t get upset by the vlogger, just see the facilities and room features.

So, for people who are looking for a good place to stay in Ortigas Pasig, you can visit Go Hotels at:

I hope this post will be a great help for those who are still undecided on where to stay in Ortigas.
For the few weeks, I have written about Minoloc Island and Lagen Island. But now, we will explore another island in El Nido – the Apulit Island. Apulit Island is one of the tropical paradises that are located in Northern Palawan. Along with the other Islands, which are rich in natural limestone formations, luscious forest, and white sand beaches, Apulit will not be left behind because this Island is the perfect place for tropical getaways.

I asked my friends if there are very affordable hotels in Palawan, and they said that I don’t have to worry about that. There are hotels on the main municipality and there are other places to stay within the different Islands.

I have read a review about Apulit Island and it makes me really want to go there. They said that you can get lost in the beauty of the island because its forest is untouched. Aside from that, the white sand beaches are really great for relaxation and having fun with family and friends. There other interesting activities too, like cave adventures, snorkeling, and gazing at the intact coral formations.

The tropical feel of the Island can be experienced because its white sand beach is lined with many coconut trees. You can enjoy sunbathing, beach games, sand castle building and many beach-related activities.

The Island is also blessed with much wildlife that can be observed within the island premises. Be amazed at the many colorful tropical fishes and scenic landscapes. Occasionally, there are small reef sharks that can be seen as you do snorkel near the cottages in the resort area. The west side is an advisable for that activity. Rappelling can also be enjoyed with the 60 meters high limestone cliffs with a rewarding view of the cove as you reach the top.

How to go there:

Because I really want to go there, I have searched the directions on how to go there. From Manila, it will take approximately 55-60 minutes using air flight to reach the Lio Airport. Afterwards, you will take a 30 minutes van ride to go to Taytay Town Port. And from the town proper, a boat ride will be required to reach the Apulit Island.

Another alternative travelling to go to Apulit is through the Puerto Princesa Airport. And from there, a shuttle ride going to Taytay town proper is required. It leaves the airport at 10 A.M and arrives at the town proper at 2:30 P.M.

I can’t wait to book a flight to experience this wonderful tropical paradise. See you Palawan!
As I have promised on my previous post, I will continue my friend’s Tagaytay adventure. I hope you would be patient reading this story. While they are enjoying their vacation, I am still conducting meeting on the Tagaytay hotel where I’m staying.
___

After they have finished their lunch, they rested for about 30 minutes and enjoyed the wonderful view of the Taal Volcano, took some souvenir photos, and bought some pasalubong again.

The picture above is another photo taken at the Picnic Grove. What an awesome view! I wish I have come with him to enjoy this personally and not just telling his experience. It makes me envious of him that he got the chance to enjoy this magnificent work of nature.

Beside the Picnic Grove is the Tagaytay Ridge Zip Line and Cable Car. He said that they tried those rides and feel like flying from the top of the Tagaytay Ridge. One of their friends has the fear of heights, so they wanted him to overcome it by experiencing the zip line there. The rates there are PHP 200 (USD 4.42) for one way ride and PHP 300 (USD 6.63) for the two-way ride; it is also available for combination riding. And it comes with a souvenir photo as well.

Sorry for the stickers, I just borrowed this souvenir photo. I have a fear of heights too, so I won’t even dare to ride this zip line. I feel like throwing up when I’m in very high places.

He said that the ride is so good that he encouraged me to try it too, but I said to him that he knows how scared I am in heights. I just said, maybe next time when we meet again in Tagaytay.

After their stay in the Zip Line Ridge, they went for a boat ride going to the crater of the Taal Volcano at Talisay Batangas. But that was another adventure. I will ask him if he could post it himself so that I can read his blog. And it is so difficult to write a story that was not experienced by the author himself. I will blog my personal adventure to Tagaytay when I got the chance to have another vacation in the Philippines.

Thank you for your time reading this post. I hope you would come back to read for more adventures and top destinations to visit.

This story is not mine; I just want to share this wonderful experience of my friend in the Philippines. We met at the Tagaytay Hotel where we accidentally stayed on that same day. I wasn’t able to go with him on his trip because I have a meeting and many invitations to attend to.

--------

He asked me if I could feature his trip on my blog, his name is Mike and so here it goes:

Their trip was composed of seven adventurers, they were originally from Bulacan, and they decided to have a trip to one of the Philippines best destinations – the Tagaytay City. The trip started at early in the morning, around 5 am. They rented a van for this particular trip; luckily, the driver knows a lot of tourist spots in the city where they were to have their vacation.

Tagaytay City is 101 kilometers from Bulacan, so their travel almost last for about three and a half hours. Too far and too long isn’t it? But they were so into it that no distance and travel time is too far or too long. Or is their van too slow? Or maybe the traffic is too heavy!

sky ranch tagaytay
At nine o’clock, they already reached their first stop, one of the city’s pride, wherein the country’s tallest and largest Ferris wheel is located- the Sky Eye. Measuring 207 feet with 32 gondolas, it was the country’s record holder for that title. Because compared to other amusement parks’ Ferris wheel that only measure from 130 to 180 feet.

Sky Ranch is the name of the place, for there is a ranch within the complex. You can do horseback riding with a “cowboy” costume. Sky Fun is the name of the amusement park, and Sky Eye is the name of the Ferris wheel. He said that the view of the wheel’s peak is really amazing. He sent pictures that he captured on that peak of the Ferris wheel.

Before entering the complex, they were required to pay the entrance ticket – PHP 100 (USD 2.20). And each ride has to be paid also before riding. And the Sky Eye cost PHP 150 (USD 3.32). He said that the spectacular view is worth a hundred times of its ticket’s price! At the peak, you can see the whole ranch and the Taal Volcano. Another top and most visited volcano! The pictures are provided below, sorry for the not so crisp photos.

The picture below shows the overlooking view of the Taal Volcano. He said that the weather that time is not so good, that is why it was cloudy.

Taal Volcano

The second picture shows the top view of the ranch.

Sky Ranch

He told me that the ride in the Sky Eye is so much fun and he wished that it would last for several more minutes, but the time within the ride just last for a few minutes.

There are other rides in the park, but most of them are for kids. The top rides for adults are the Super Viking and the Sky Jump.  So they decided to go to the souvenir shop and explore some “pasalubong” for their relatives.

After that Sky Ranch Experience, they decided to eat their lunch at the famous Picnic Grove, the popular place for picnics and lunch. The place is known for its spectacular view of the Taal Volcano. Be amazed at nature’s wonder while having a good time eating lunch.

I will continue their Tagaytay Escapade story on the next blog post. Thank you for reading my blog. Feel free to leave your comments.
